- Trauma may dislodge PC IOL to the anterior or posterior chamber
or even to the subconjunctival space.
- Clinical features:
- Depends on the position of the dislocated
IOL, it may give symptoms of:
- Fluctuating visual acuity
- Monocular diplopia
- Painful eye
- Photophobia
- Signs:
- Aphakia
- Partial or total dislocated IOL
- Can be complicated with inflammatory reactions, pigment dispersion,
corneal decompensation,glaucoma, cystoid macular edema or
retinal detachment.
- Management:
- IOL removal and replaced by new IOL.
- IOL reposition.
- Specific treatment of the other complications.
