Sutural Cataract

  • Usually congenital and familial with X-linked inheritance.
  • Males usually have a significant cataract and females only have minimal opacities.
  • Symptoms: vision is usually not affected, except in males with significant opacification.
  • Signs: the opacity follows the shape of anterior or posterior Y suture and not progressive.
