Lens & Cataract-Piggy Back Intraocular Lenses

Piggy back intraocular lenses. One was placed in the capsular bag and the other one in the ciliary sulcus.

Placing two artificial intraocular lenses (IOLs) in one eye after cataract removal surgery.
Indication:
- Hyperopic eyes
- Miscalculation of lens power which causes significant post-operative refractive error
- Explantation or removal of previously implanted IOL is difficult and/or may cause greater risk
Slit lamp examination demonstrates two IOLs in either the same or two different anatomical section(s) such as in capsular bag, ciliary sulcus and/ or transclerally fixated lens.
